Print Media

lubalin is a typeface created to commemorate Herb Lubalin, one of the most influential typographer who was responsible for the creative visual beauty of Eros, Fact, and Avant Garde magazines.

The objective of this project is to create a new and original typography for either an event or based on a chosen typographer, and in my case, I picked Herb Lubalin as my main inspiration for this typography.

The font was inspired by his typefaces, but with a modern twist by making it sans serif and 3D effect, complimented by vibrant colors to give it a more futuristic look.

The reason I created this style is because most of Lubalin's fonts are serif and nowadays since a lot of people use digital media, I think serif fonts are not really good to be used on digital media because the legibility is a bit bad, especially if you use it as a body text.
